Self-Guided Tours
Visitors taking self-guided tours are invited to enjoy walking tours, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and bird watching. Our paved paths are plowed and accessible to all visitors. You can pick up a self-guided map and trail guide at the Visitors Center. Explore 1.5 miles of paved paths and 2.5 miles of unpaved trails leading you through the heart of the Arboretum. Walk or ride in comfort and enjoy a narrated one hour trip through the Arboretum with a knowledgeable guide. The tours highlight our gardens, shrub and tree collections, seasonal blossoms and horticultural and natural history. School groups will love exploring and learning about the Arboretum and Gardens through our Backpack Garden Tours. Choose from six different adventures based on grade level which focus on a part of the Arboretum grounds. The Klehm Express is retired for the season and will return Spring 2012. One of the most popular ways to make your visit memorable is to take a narrated tour aboard the new Klehm Express shuttle.
