Docent Riding Tours
   

Docent Walking Tours

Enjoy an exciting and educational tour of the Arboretum by a trained Docent. On the tour, that lasts about 1 hour,  you’ll discover what makes Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden a unique and very special place. Depending on the season, your Docent will showcase specific trees, plants and the occasional wildlife that makes “every season a reason” to visit.  The trail is 1.5 miles and is paved.

  • Date & Time: Daily during operational hours

  • Location: Klehm Arboretum – 2715 S. Main Street, Rockford, Illinois 61102

  • Reservations: All Docent Tours must be scheduled at least 1 week in advance

  • All Groups - $6 per person plus regular admission. Prepayment is required - no refunds

Docent Riding Tours

The much asked for Blossom Buggy offers a riding guided tour of the Arboretum on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons at 1 and 2 p.m. beginning in May. The Blossom Buggy is an electronic cart that accommodates one tour guide and five passengers. It is an excellent way to tour the nearly two mile path, especially for those with limited physical agility. Tours are 45 minutes and are offered May through October.

School Tours

Explore and learn about the Arboretum on these self-guided tours especially for K-5th Grade students.   Registrations for the Garden Backpack tours are not taken by phone - to register Klehm must receive a completed form and payment.  Details are on the form.

   

A Quiet Path

Self-guided tours are free and available at any time during regular hours. Stop into the Visitor Center for a helpful trail guide.
