Three southwest Rockford attractions will open their doors to the public and offer food coupons that may be redeemed at eight area eating establishments. Once again, Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden, Tinker Swiss Cottage, and the Ethnic Heritage Museum will partner with seven eateries to enhance your enjoyment of this cultural tour. Arbor Dash 5K

Friday, April 24, 2015 Celebrate Arbor Day with a run through the woods! The 2nd annual Arbor Dash is a non-competitive fun run through Klehm’s 155 acres of trees and gardens at twilight. A brand new course that’s part road race, part trail run, the Arbor Dash is open to runners and walkers of all ages and fitness levels. In addition to a t-shirt, free passes to the garden and a reusable grocery bag, every participant goes home with their own seedling to help keep the forest in the Forest City. Your registration fee will help Klehm continue to fulfill our mission to maintain a living museum for the enjoyment, education and inspiration of all people. Runners! For more than two decades, Garden Fair has been the place to shop for flowers, shrubs, tools, outdoor art and other garden–related items. The event attracts more than 4,000 visitors every year. With over 70 exhibitors, it’s the area’s largest outdoor living marketplace and there’s something for everyone. Tickets are good for admission all three days. Wildflower Garden Blooming

The Vi Bates Wildflower Garden is in bloom!  This woodland garden blooms in early spring.  Blooms are a bit later than normal with the unseasonable cold.  Look close for the tiny woodland varieties.
