Saturday, March 29, 2014 9:30am-11:30am Woodruff Imberman  is  past president of the  Lily Society and lectures widely on lilies at garden clubs throughout the Midwest. He is the author of numerous articles in regional and national horticultural magazines on lilies, is an amateur lily hybridizer, an accredited international lily judge, and has won many awards for his lilies. Those attending the talk will learn simple propagation techniques for growing lilies, hear about  the wide variety of lilies that flourish in our area, and how to design a garden with lilies so some are in bloom all summer long. Klehm Family Day

Saturday, March 22 10:00am – 2:00pm Our March Family Day will focus on flowers and things that bloom! We have lots of fun things planned  for this months family-focused day. Be prepared to keep busy! Make flower crafts, keep busy with other “blooming” fun and search the gallery room for flowers found in the Klehm Gardens.  We know kids love Scavenger Hunts, so we have hidden ten different flower varieties around the gallery room.  See how long it takes to find all ten. Take a walk outside to look for a Robin.  We know they are here. see if you can spot one.  We will have binoculars on hand to help kids search. Our sidewalks are ready for flower power! So, grab some chalk and draw your favorite blooms.  We can’t wait to see...

AHS Seed Exchange

How the Program Works Each fall American Horticultural Society members send in seeds collected from their gardens to share with other members. AHS staff and volunteers compile a list of the submitted seeds along with information about how to grow and care for them. The seed list and order form are then posted on the AHS website in mid-January. All AHS members can order seeds from the exchange, but those members who donate seeds get first choice when ordering. This can be an advantage because some rare or uncommon seeds can be in short supply. There is no charge to order seeds, but a donation is requested to cover the costs of shipping and handling.
