Many plants are from the area’s best gardeners—Klehm members! Preview Night is limited to our indoor location only. $5 admission Spring Plant Sale Saturday, May 9 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 10 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Plan to spend time Mother’s Day weekend shopping for this year’s garden stock. The Plant Sale expands to include our outdoors location, too. Choose from hundreds of colorful plants, including unique varieties from local nurseries. Arbor Dash 5K

Friday, April 24, 2015 Celebrate Arbor Day with a run through the woods! The 2nd annual Arbor Dash is a non-competitive fun run through Klehm’s 155 acres of trees and gardens at twilight. A brand new course that’s part road race, part trail run, the Arbor Dash is open to runners and walkers of all ages and fitness levels. In addition to a t-shirt, free passes to the garden and a reusable grocery bag, every participant goes home with their own seedling to help keep the forest in the Forest City. Cook Horticulture Series Dave Wanninger is the Horticulturist in Charge at Boerner Botanical Gardens in Hales Corners, Wisconsin. Previously, Dave worked many years as Horticulturist at Beaver Creek Nursery and Klehm’s Song Sparrow Farm (not affiliated with Klehm Arboretum). Before that, Dave operated a landscaping company and was the nursery manager at a large independent garden center. He was also a longtime Instructor in the Horticulture program at Blackhawk Technical College in Janesville, Wisconsin.  Dave embraces a large plant palette, but particularly favors hostas, peonies, and dwarf conifers in his home garden. Horticulture for the Holidays

Saturday, November 15, 2014 9:00am – 12.00pm University of Illinois Extension’s annual Horticulture for the Holidays event is scheduled for November 15th from 9 a.m. to noon (check-in begins at 8:30 a.m.) at Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden. Participants will experience two make-it-take-it workshops. The $25 fee includes all workshop materials, admission into Klehm Arboretum, and morning beverage service. Registration is limited.
