The cost to attend is $25 per person, which covers materials and instruction for three make-and-take workshops that incorporate the garden and nature with a seasonal twist. Join U of I Extension horticulture educator, Candice Miller, as she demonstrates various ways to use evergreens from your own backyard for seasonal decor around your home. Candice will also demonstrate how to use a basic grapevine form to make a unique wreath.  This will be followed by a hands-on workshop where you will make your own holiday grapevine wreath to take home! Renewable Energy Expo at Klehm

The Klehm Arboretum Gallery Room was home to the Winnebago County Renewable Energy Expo on Friday, November 8th.  Approximately 250-300 people were in attendance over the course of the day for the first ever expo.  Focusing on green technology, the expo featured exhibits from 30 companies and organizations. Hiking for Hounds – The Costume Contest...

Sunday, October 13, 2013 10am – 2pm | Contest at 1pm Bring your costumed canine friends to spend a day enjoying and exploring our entire 155 acres of gardens and grounds. We have picnic sites and Coley’s Cooler will be on hand serving hot dogs. At 1pm that day, dog owners are encouraged to enter their furry friends into a free costume contest. Prizes will be awarded, and everyone will be able to take home good memories and pictures. In addition, there will be vendors with pet-friendly products to visit and an adoption event featuring PAWS, Good Shepherd Animal Sanctuary, Cause for Paws Rescue and Angels for Animals.
