Arbor Day – The Trees of Klehm
April 26

Help Reforest the Forest City.
This unique sale features a selection of significant trees and shrubs, including Kentucky Coffee Trees, Hackberry, and Magnolias, that are a part of the arboretum collections. They have been specially chosen for their beauty, ease of transport & survivability. Volunteers will be on hand to assist you in selecting the perfect tree for your particular site. All trees are $15. Supplies are limited!  No pre-sales.

Time: 9am-4pm
Cost: Free admission.


 

Plant Sale Preview & Reception
and Annual Plant Sale

May 2 & 3

Friday: 5pm-8pm
Cost: $5.00

Here is your opportunity to get first chance at the best selection of annuals, perennials, herbs, wildflowers and rare plants.

Saturday: 9am - 4pm
Cost: Free admission

Thousands of plants are for sale. Many of these plants are from the gardens of Klehm’s members. Master Gardeners will be on site to help you make your selections and answer questions.


 

Blossom Walk
May 3 & 4
 
Stroll the winding paths of Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden to admire the bounty of the blossoms when Klehm’s flowering trees burst forth in all their spring beauty.

Mother’s Day Mom & Me Tea
May 11

Celebrate Mother’s Day with an elegant outdoor tea party in the Nancy Olson Children’s Garden. Tasty treats and yummy deserts await you. Appropriate party dress  requested. Each sitting will be limited to 24 guests at tables of six.

Garden Fair
June 6 7 & 8
This weekend the Midwest’s premiere gardening and outdoor living marketplace takes over the entire Arboretum. Over 100 vendors selling anything & everything garden related make this a shopper’s paradise. Bring the kids along to experience the Klehm Kids Tent filled with free educational and creative activities.

Autumn at the Arboretum

Bring the entire family out for a day of fun at our annual celebration of fall festival. Pumpkins, horse-drawn wagon rides, activities for the kids, scarecrows, cider and more.

Ongoing Programs
 
May through October – Drop in Days at Klehm
Saturdays: 8am–11am

We’ve set aside the second Saturday of each month to welcome the public to lend a hand in our gardens and grounds. All tools provided. Your three hours of help really makes a difference. May 10, June 14, July 12, August 12, September 13 and October 11.

 

June 16 through the summer - Master Gardeners Plant Clinic
Saturdays: Noon–3pm

Have a gardening or plant question? Master Gardeners are the experts to turn to and they will be at Klehm on Saturdays beginning June 16.

 

June 16 through September 29 – Plant-a-Row Drop Off Site
Mondays: 9am–7pm

Klehm Arboretum is proud to be a collection site for donations of fresh vegetables and fruits. Donations benefit local pantries and soup kitchens. For more information about Plant-a-Row for the Hungry please call 815-986-4357.

 

June 16 through September 29 - Farmer’s Market
Mondays: 4pm–7pm

Every Monday you can buy locally grown produce at the area’s first evening Farmer’s Market. For vendor inquiries please call 815-965-8146.
