Do you have a busy lifestyle and need to slow down and see the beauty in the world around you? The tranquil gardens at Klehm will be the backdrop for a new meditation class held weekly on Saturday mornings. Join this new class and learn the practice of Vipassana meditation.
Meaning of the word “Vipassana”
“Vipassanā” comes from the Indo-Aryan language of Pali. It translates to “insight” or “seeing deeply”.
Purpose of Vipassanā Meditation
- To calm and clear the mind
- To view the world with clarity
- To find balance within the self
The practice of Vipassana Meditation
Vipassana meditation is done in a relatively quiet place. It can be done alone or with a group. The focus of the meditation is the self and its responses to the stimulus that affect it. The journey of self-transformation is done through observing how the self reacts to external and internal sensations. This is a journey through the micro and macro cosmos.
Where, when, and what to bring
Weekly on Saturdays at 9:30 A.M to 10:30 A.M. at Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden. Nothing is needed, but feel free to bring a cushion, pillow, mediation stool, or anything of comfort to sit on as the session will last roughly an hour and will be held outside in the gardens.
