For two decades, Garden Fair has proven to be the place to shop for flowers, shrubs, tools, outdoor art and other garden–related items. The event is expected to attract more than 5,000 visitors. With over 80 exhibitors it’s the area’s largest outdoor living marketplace, there’s something for everyone. Tickets are good for admission all 3 days. Bring your canine friends to spend a day enjoying and exploring our entire 155 acres of gardens and grounds. Our Community Dog Walk is meant to be informal and fun so there’s no scheduled programs, but we do have a cause. Visitors are encouraged to offer cash donations to support Kibble Korner, Rockford’s pet food pantry. Kibble Korner has a mission to keep our area’s pets fed and in the homes they know and love. As families struggle with the loss of jobs, your help can make all the difference to sparing children, parents, and the family pet the heartache of separation. The Dell is a volunteer-inspired project designed to demonstrate the beauty of many acid-loving plants, and the feasibility of growing them in our northern climate and limestone-underlain soil conditions. You’ll learn the basics about growing these acid-loving plants and the history of the Dell. Afterwards, Dave will lead you through this beautiful collection which now boasts over 90 different varieties and cultivars of Rhododendrons, Azaleas, Mountain-laurels, and Pieris, the largest such collection in Illinois in any public garden.
