2013 Spring Appeal
It’s that time of year again: the time when winter’s grip is beginning to ease, buds are beginning to form and we look forward to getting out into the garden. What an exciting time of year as we wait to trade the drab color palette of late winter and witness the transformation into full spring bloom, so pleasing to the senses.
It is with this same excitement and anticipation that I ask for your financial support for Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden and our mission. In 2013 we will continue to revitalize our gardens and floral displays, improve our family programming to better connect with nature, and offer relevant educational opportunities for lifelong learning.
Klehm is a vital part of our community offering essential green space and opportunities to engage with nature:
As an arboretum, Klehm is Rockford’s “living museum” with over 300 species of trees and shrubs and an additional 200 cultivars and varieties highlighting the variety and diversity of the collection, unique to few other places in the Midwest.
As a botanical garden, Klehm is home to many specialty gardens, like the Nancy Olson Children’s Garden, butterfly, fountain, wildflower and hosta gardens, styled in formal or casual elegance. Plus, as a public garden we ensure our grounds are accessible to people of all abilities and support our local food pantries with a Plant-a-Row garden.
As a place to learn, Klehm offers a variety of opportunities for lifelong learning from Family Fun Days to Botanical Lectures, and group tours for schools and adults as well as a full schedule of activities and programs throughout the year.
Klehm has a wonderful mission: to inspire people through education, environmental experiences and enjoyment, as a unique arboretum and botanic garden.
Please help support our mission by making a generous gift today. Your relationship with Klehm demonstrates that you clearly understand the value that Klehm has to our community. With your generosity Klehm can continue to be a place to grow trees, beautiful gardens and healthy citizens. Please make your commitment today!
