Saturday, February 9, 2012 10am – 3pm This February our Family Day theme is “Take a Fresh Look at Winter.” Snow’s not the only reason nature is beautiful and interesting in winter. There are many colorful plants, interesting trees and plant features which are hidden by leaves in summer. To encourage discoveries, kids will be given the supplies for a scavenger hunt to find some of these interesting plants. At each location they will pick up supplies to make a mosaic craft in the Visitors Center. Noon – Family Photo Walk This year we want kids to take part in our Winter Photo Contest. Saturday, February 9, 2013 9:30am – 11:00am If you’re a fan of lilies, don’t miss this presentation by Woodruff Imberman, Wisconsin Illinois Lily Society president. Those attending will be taught simple propagation techniques, learn about the wide variety of lilies that flourish in our area, and how to design a garden where some lilies are in bloom all summer long. Woodruff lectures widely on lilies at garden clubs throughout the Midwest. He is also the author of numerous articles in regional and national horticultural magazines on lilies, is an amateur lily hybridizer, an accredited international lily judge, and has won many awards for his lilies.
