Winter 2013: Amateur Photography Contest Contest: December 2012 – February 2013 Submission Deadline: March 1, 2013 Get out this winter and take great pictures at Klehm.  Participate in our winter digital photography contest.  The contest runs from December 1, 2012 to February 28, 2013.  Winners will be announced March 13, 2013 and an award ceremony will be held March 23, 2013.   The Whole Family Can Participate: ·         Adult Competition:  Open to any amateur photographer 15 and older. ·         Children’s Competition: Open to any child 14 and younger.   Photographers of all ages are invited to capture snowy landscapes, wildlife and plants in their winter form. This contest does not have separate categories. Saturday, February 9, 2012 10am – 3pm This February our Family Day theme is “Take a Fresh Look at Winter.” Snow’s not the only reason nature is beautiful and interesting in winter. There are many colorful plants, interesting trees and plant features which are hidden by leaves in summer. To encourage discoveries, kids will be given the supplies for a scavenger hunt to find some of these interesting plants. At each location they will pick up supplies to make a mosaic craft in the Visitors Center. Noon – Family Photo Walk This year we want kids to take part in our Winter Photo Contest. Those attending will be taught simple propagation techniques, learn about the wide variety of lilies that flourish in our area, and how to design a garden where some lilies are in bloom all summer long.
