In light of weather conditions, Klehm’s trees will receive the loving care they need one week later than planned. Join Klehm Tuesday, February 21st for the love of trees.

Inspired by Valentine’s Day, trees at Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden are getting tender loving care. Large oaks and other trees in the Rhododendron & Azalea Dell will be pruned to remove dead wood by certified arborists from Tree Care Enterprises, Inc.

John Richards, owner of Tree Care Enterprises and lead champion of Klehm’s new Community Trees Program will be donating the professional tree care services. “Trees give so much to make our community healthier and more beautiful every day. We are glad to provide care to help keep these trees healthy and strong.”

“Winter is a great time to prune trees. Trees are dormant and it is easier to see their branch structure. It is also the time to prune trees without risking disease transmission.” said Edith Makra, Community Trees Advocate for Klehm.

“The Community Trees Program was designed to encourage people to protect and care for trees. With this donation of service, we’re able to demonstrate good tree stewardship here at Klehm, ” according to Jane Snively, Executive Director.
