Special 5th Ward Meeting Held At Klehm

This is not a Klehm Arboretum event, but we would like our members to know about this special meeting.

South Main Street Revitalization Strategy

Please join Alderman Hervey, City staff and a team of consultants from both the Lakota Group and Belmont Sayre, at a special 5th Ward meeting to present the final draft of the South Main Revitalization Strategy, as well as preliminary design concepts for the Barber-Colman complex. The meeting will be held at Klehm Arboretum on Thursday, October 27th at 6:00pm.

Over the past year the South Main community has participated in many meetings and discussions on the future of the South Main Corridor. We invite all of you to come see the results of your hard work and input. With the Morgan Street project just beginning and the South Main Street construction project starting within the next few months, the Revitalization Strategy will be the key tool to help Southwest Rockford move forward.

We are also excited to be working with a new consulting firm, Belmont Sayre, who will be preparing the Barber-Colman complex for redevelopment. Representatives from that company will presenting some early designs and encouraging future input from the community on this exciting project.

We encourage your attendance for this exciting event. Please contact Jonah Katz, City of Rockford, at 967-6772 or for Spanish Brenda Alegria at 967-6771.

Join your neighbors as we look to the future of Southwest Rockford’
