Student and School Tours

Group Visits are available to school groups to explore the gardens without a guide. Materials are available to help elementary students guide their own learning in the arboretum.  Garden Adventure Packs are small backpacks issued to each group upon their arrival and collected when the group departs. Choose from six different adventures based on grade level which focus on a part of the Arboretum grounds.  Each tour includes Garden Adventure Packs (backpacks) containing all the curriculum and supplies needed for a one-hour, self-guided tour.  After the tour stay for a picnic, play in our Children’s Garden or take a map and explore more of the natural world at Klehm. Plant-a-Row Garden

Klehm plants rows of vegetables every year to help support our local pantries and shelters with feeding the hungry.  Last year the garden produced 1,700 pounds of produce.  “Plant-a-Row” is a national program and was started in 1995.  Everyone with a little bit of land can make a difference.  Find out more about this program....
